Track Events – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


1. Q: What should I wear?
A:Closed toed shoes, Long pants, Long sleeve shirt (suggested), SA10 or newer helmet

2. Q: Can I bring a guest
A: Absolutely, guests are welcome and can attend for free. Our family style event makes it easy for family or friends to come visit at the track. They can even partake in our parade laps during lunch (also free). Please make sure your guests sign in at the registration desk.

3. Q: What if it rains?
A: We run rain or shine, bring some wet weather gear. An event may be delayed if deemed to be a safety hazard (i.e. lightning).

4. Q: What kind of cars can participate?
A: All types of cars have participated, from Fiesta’s to Corvette’s. SUV’s are not permitted. Convertibles must be equipped with a roll bar, and need to get approval before attending.

5. Q: Why do my windows have to be down?
A: This is for safety, so if anything happens on the track the corner workers can communicate with you quickly.

6. Q: Can I give rides?
A: Only the instructors can give rides, this is an excellent way for you to learn the driving line of the track. Rides can also be given to guests, by the instructors if requested.

7. Q: How fast can I drive?
A: This depends on you and your car, but mainly driver skill/comfort level. Novice drivers will need to be approved by their instructor before being allowed to “solo”.

9. Q: What if there is an accident?
A: While accidents are very rare, they are possible. We have professional corner workers and an ambulance on site should an incident occur. If you have an accident, you will be responsible for damage incurred.

10. Q: What previous experience do I need?
A: A valid driver’s license and be 18 yrs of age. Our instructors will ride along with you, helping you learn proper driving techniques. These techniques will help make you a safer driver on and off the road.

11. Q: What about lunch?
A: Lunch is not provided, so feel free to bring a picnic style lunch. There is also enough time to run to local restaurants during the lunch break if desired. It is also common for someone to make a “lunch run” to a local fast food place.  Also, the track has a concession stand serving hot and cold food, with reasonable prices.

12. Q: How long will I be at the track?
A: The day is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tech: 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Mandatory Driver’s Meeting at 9:30 AM.
